Welcome to the Umbraco Templates Package Demo Site. Here you will find demo's of a number of FREE umbraco design themes that have been collected together by Orcare.
You'll find our templates are ports of existing free templates published by styleshout.com. Our first templates were ported to work by laying over the Creative Website Wizard package produced by Warren Buckley, but the latest versions which you will find in our Template Gallery are designed to work in Umbraco v4 by laying over the Runway package. Our Template Packages just consist of Umbraco templates, stylesheets and some images, that provide a different skin for the Document Types in Runway.
Instructions
Using these templates in Umbraco is really easy. First make sure you're using Umbraco version 4 (we've only tested in v4.0.0, but the templates may also work from v4 RC1 onwards). Next make sure that you've got the Runway Package and Runway Standard Top Navigation Packages installed.
Then download any of our templates, then go to the Umbraco Developer section of the backend, click Packages > Install Local Package. Once installed you'll find new templates, styelsheets and media images added.
Next you need to manually make the new template available in your existing Runway pages. To do this go to the Settings section of the Umbraco backend, click Document Types then click on the Runway Homepage document type. On the allowed templates section ensure you select the template XXX Textpage (replace XXX with the name of the Template package e.g. VectorLover Textpage). Save the document type. You may also want to set this template as the default template for the document type. Repeat this for the Runway Textpage document type.
You must now update the pages in Runway to use your new template. Go to the Content section, and click on any of your pages. On the Properties tab you'll see the Template drop down set to be Runway Textpage or Runway Homepage, update this to be XXX Textpage. Save and publish the changes.
You can now checkout the page on your website and it should be in your new chosed template. Repeat the last steps on any other pages in your site.
Licensing
You'll find licensing information about each template on the it's homepage. In most cases the templates are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License which means you're free to download and use the template as long as you attribute the work to the original author, and to Orcare Limited.
